Hot
Bride,
The Second Time Around
by Suzanne Dansereau
Some of you may relate to my
story,
There I was, 43 years old (young by today’s
standard) getting married for the second time. I was happy
and excited; however, I started to reflect on how similar
and yet how very different I felt with preparing this event
for the second time in my life.
Planning the different stages for the wedding
day did not seem as important; our ceremony was going to be
simple and intimate. So decisions regarding our date, the
party (in my mother-in-law’s garden), guest list, food,
photography were made in a 2 hours conversation with my
fiancé.
What really seemed important was my
appearance. I wanted to be a hot bride. AH! Vanity…Yes I
was determined to slim down to fit in an elegant gown and
feel comfortable. I determined that feeling beautiful was
still relevant the second time round.
My first priority was to be healthy and have
enough energy to fully enjoy the wedding day with my new
husband. I immediately started on an exercise program. I
started speed walking outdoor every other day and went to
the gym 3 times a week. I dreaded going to the gym until I
hired a personal trainer to make sure I would not skip my
workouts.
I started to feel different quite quickly;
however, my energy level was still low and I was not
trimming down as much as I wanted to. My personal trainer
suggested I look into my nutrition and evaluate my eating
habits. I knew then that exercise was not enough if I
wanted to reach my goals in the 6 weeks remaining until my
wedding date. I needed to pay attention to my food habits.
I did not want to go on a diet; I had done it
too many times before (and always gained the weight back).
I was looking for a fast solution, but maybe I could find
something that would permit me to be a hot bride and feel
vibrant and beautiful not only on my wedding day but in my
future. My childbearing days were over; so I had no more
excuses. So I made the decision to find a way with lasting
results. And I went on a Quest.
I researched through different avenues: the
web (lots of information to be a hot bride), articles, books
on nutrition, and conversations with health experts. This
is what I learned: my food was not giving me the nutrients I
needed to fuel my body with more energy and certain foods
needed to be eliminated to lose the 6 unwanted pounds,
showing mostly around my waist.
Finally, I came upon information on cleansing
the body with a specific Cleansing program that would last
30 days and help me gain more energy with all the nutrients
my body needed to attain my goal and would help me eliminate
the unwanted fat around my abdomen. It was the perfect
solution for me: 30 days, and expected results.
During those 5 weeks left to our wedding day,
I started to feel like I was 20 again and even better…I knew
I was on to something. I really got excited.
By my wedding day, I felt incredible. Our
day was exceptional, bright sun, guests we all loved,
perfect food and awesome pictures. I was happy, and so was
my groom who could not take his eyes off his bride. I was a
hot bride, even the second time around. Not only did I feel
beautiful and healthy; I was full of energy and knew that I
wanted to be fit and feel this good for the rest of my life.
My wedding the second time around was the one
of the best day of my life.
